Her Name is Lola

No, not the showgirl, my new (borrowed) spinning wheel. I believe Lola (yes, I have named her, ahem) is a single treadle Castle/traveller style spinning wheel but I am unsure of the maker as there are no markings or stickers. Miss Millie wanted to join in on the photos. I have ordered some English Leicester fleece from here which I am hoping will be easy for me to spin as this type of fleece has a long staple. Wish me luck!

P.S: This is my 50th blog post! hurrah!

Hey!
I've just discovered your blog through Plain Jane Creations and I just wanted to say hello.
I gather you are from the South East. I used to live in Mt Gambier once upon a time, many years ago (perhaps 25 years ago). Love the socks you made - I must confess I find the idea of socks a little daunting, but I'm a new knitter, so I find most things scary.
Goodluck with the spinning - my mother used to spin and lately I've been thinking it would be fun.... hope it is for you.
cheers
